Race Overview 

Running from September 21 to 23, 2023, the Istria MTB Stage Race is a thrilling challenge that spans three days. Cyclists will cover a whopping 250 kilometers and tackle a grueling 4,500 meters of ascent during this epic journey. But don't worry; smart stops along the route ensure that your rest breaks are not counted towards your race time, allowing you to recharge, strategize, and savor the beauty of Istria.

Race Format 

Here's a quick overview of the race format: 

• 3 stages in 3 days 
• Teams of 2 riders 
• Approx. 250 km distance with 4,500 m ascent 
• Each stage comprises 3 timed segments with 2 neutralization sections up to 3 km long 

Race Categories 

The Istria MTB Stage Race offers various categories to cater to a wide range of riders: 

• Men (18 – 39 years old) 
• Masters Men (40-49 years old) 
• Men Grand Masters (50 years and older) 
• Women (both participants must be at least 18 years old) 
• Mix (male and female, both participants must be at least 18 years old) 
• E-Bike (both participants must be at least 18 years old, and at least one rider uses an E-bike) 

All participants must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the race. 

Host Cities 

This year, the race takes place in two host cities: 

• Race Base 1: Poreč (September 20 – 22, 2023) 
• Race Base 2: Labin (September 22 - 24, 2023)
